Ten of the most promising young actors in Europe chosen by a high-profile jury of film industry professionals as the Shooting Stars of 2011 have concluded a whirlwind weekend of events at the Berlin International Film Festival with photo-sessions, casting director meetings, press conference, a glittering award ceremony and gala reception .
Monday night jury member Heike Makatsch (German Shooting Star 2001) and renowned British actor Ralph Fiennes welcomed the ten actors onto the Berlinale Palast stage to receive the Shooting Stars Award – donated by Studio Babelsberg, to celebrate their recent achievements.
Receiving the Shooting Stars Award on stage at the Berlinale Palast were Sylvia Hoeks (The Netherlands), Alicia Vikander (Sweden), Brighton Rock babe Andrea Riseborough (United Kingdom), Marija Škaričić (Croatia), Natasha Petrovic (FYR Macedonia), Clara Lago (Spain), Ralph Fiennes (Host), Heike Makatsch (jury), Lina Todd (jury), Nik Xhelilaj (Albania) Alexander Fehling (Germany), Pilou Asbæk (Denmark) and Domhnall Gleeson (Ireland).
